Galatea Clinic
The Galatea Clinic, the first center of its kind in all of Europe, was founded in 2007 and is the fruit of a collaboration between the Barcelona Medical Association and CPB Mental Health Services, a pioneer entity in the creation and management of innovative health centers in Barcelona for the past 25 years.
It combines its experience with the Comprehensive Care Program for Sick Doctors (PAIMM, 1998) and the Sick Nurses Program (RETORN, 2000), also the Sick Pharmacists Program (ITACA, 2011),
the Sick Veterinarians Program (ASSIS, 2010) financed mostly by the of the Departament of Health of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, as well as the Galatea Foundation and the Council of Medical Associations of Catalonia (2001) and the other professional associations.
More than 1,600 doctors and 700 nurses have entrusted themselves to our care until 2011. 90% of them were admitted on their own behalf or were advised to do so by colleagues, family members or specialized social service personnel (company work health staff, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, etc.).
